Every day, millions of people dream of becoming their own boss, but start-ups can be risky with over half failing within the first five years. Buying an existing business for sale can fast track your way to success.

Under New Management charts the fascinating world of small businesses, and the entrepreneurs who run them, or want to run them. The series is hosted by renowned venture capitalist and host of CBC’s Dragons\' Den, Arlene Dickinson.

Each half hour episode, follows the fast-paced journey of potential buyers, hoping to purchase an established business. After identifying their goals, Arlene pre-selects three potential businesses that are currently for sale that she feels will suit each buyers’ financial and lifestyle goals. Adding to the anticipation and excitement, the prospective buyers do not know what businesses Arlene has selected for their consideration until they arrive at the location of each business.

Once on location, potential buyers meet the sellers and learn important details such as client base, location details, lease options, business history, operating costs and the ever-important asking price. The buyer spends some time working at each business, getting to know more about how it operates, and the intricacies of the business. Arlene works through the financials with the buyers, the profit to date and annual revenues. Together they will weigh the pros and cons, but ultimately the buyer must decide which business they will choose to put Under New Management.
